Steph's
Steph Jones Psychology aims to provide young people with the tools necessary to build resilience and capacity to respond positively to disadvantage and/or adverse experiences. Steph Jones Psychology aims to help disconnected young people, connect. Additionally, we aim to help young people discover their full potential and seek to support also those who are high potential learners but may not be receiving the requisite tools to see their dreams come to fruition.
Martin Seligman’s PERMA model is used to underpin how we understand flourishing as a state. That is, when all five factors from this model are focused on (positive emotions, engagement, relationships, meaning and accomplishments), one's capacity to live authentically and thrive is increased. Using tangible activities such as SMART goals to pursue aspirations, and unpacking the datasets that are created from a young person's responses to Character Strengths survey (VIA Character Strengths). Steph Jones creates practical strategies and supports to target individual needs. As such, our approach is flexible and individually targeted to encourage the young person to make healthy choices in their everyday life.
Additionally, role play techniques are used to establish alternative strategies/ways to respond to situations i.e. problem solve, how to navigate social engagements.
